Algebra IB  

1.0 Credit (Algebra I)  

 

This course is designed for high school students, but may be taken by eligible middle school students. 

 

  • Algebra IB  Students will study the foundational skills of Algebra including equations, multi-step word problems, geometry basics, linear graphing and quadratic equations.  

  • They will do the second half of the Algebra I book this year. This allows them to really grasp these important foundational concepts

  • Students will be required to have their homework graded at home. 

  • TRA will provide all tests and assessments. You will not need the HS Test packet. 

  • Reading the Course Overview and watching the How To Math Notebook video is MANDATORY to take this class

Supplies      

 

  • TEXTBOOK:  SAXON Algebra 1             (3rd edition)

  • Solutions Manual  (Parents will be grading homework, so this is necessary.)

  • Students will maintain a notebook--3-ring binder 1.5" or 2"

  • 3 tab dividers (Notes/Handouts, Homework, Tests/Quizzes)

  • Graph paper, Notebook paper, Pencils (mechanical preferred) and Erasers

  • Ruler Straight edge, Compass, Protractor

  • Scientific Calculator REQUIRED

You may purchase the entire Home School Kit which includes the textbook, solutions manual, and tests if you find a good deal, but TRA will provide tests. 

 

CD Rom Tutorials are also available but NOT required.  If your student struggles, this may be a good idea.
